Cliffnotes: Guy take his cobra out the salt flats, and sees how fast he can go, and how hard he can run it. Then makes a For Sale thread to show the aftermath. "Needs a new motor, an alternator, a set of tires and some minor detailing. Drag raced, road raced, auto crossed, drifted, stunted and taken to the limit of speed on a dry lake. Always treated with kind, loving hands."

Since when did you have to pay to get out onto ElMirage?

I have been going out there since 1961 and have never paid.

Raced there (187mph on a 1975 Z-1) landed planes on it, fired 8" firework shells out there. Probably a hundred BBQs. Fun place to mess around.

best of all hes asking $44,000 for that car!

its worth $14,000 at best, especially if the motor is dead. If he didnt wash the salt off immediately after that shits gonna eat through the paint in the quickness, especially if he didnt have the correct paint correction to protect it.

what a ****ing tool.

There would have been no salt if he was on the dry lakes, he said the dust was like talcum powder. Looks like he had a fun time at least.

They started it a few years ago. Its pretty uptight there now, they dont allow you to do donuts, etc anymore.

The bed is not salt at El Mirage, just hard packed dirt.
