cobra gauges in a gt

I have a friend that would like to put some 96 Cobra gauges into his 96 gt. Is this a simple plug n' play? He's been told to buy the whole assembly because the wiring is different from the cobra to the gt. I would think they would be the same, but what do I know? Any help with this matter would be great. :rockon:

to my best understanding, the wiring on the two vehicles dowes differ in some areas, but the cluster will plug and play.
