Cobra caliper question.

I've been wanting to upgrade my front brakes to cobra calipers, pads rotors, etc. but I've seen a steady price of 300-320 for JUST the calipers. The lowest I've seen is 215 on eBay. I can get refurbished cobra calipers through my work for 45 each. They're made by PBR which if I am to understand correctly, made the OEM calipers.is that the only difference? One says cobra and done Doesnt?

I think the "Cobra" "Mach 1" and possibly the "bullit" calipers are functionally the same, just different (or no) lettering, HOWEVER, your plan to purchase rebuilt calipers, while good at first blush may require you to provide a "core" caliper for the rebuilder. That "core" charge can be very large, negating the price advantage you seek.

I've checked into that. It's only $20 and that plus my price through my shop since we have a commercial account comes out to around $50 ea.
this is was I'm looking at. If you look at the pictures they say PBR but nothing else. I'd actually prefer not to have "cobra" on them since my car isn't one and I'm not wanting to pretend otherwise. Thank you!

If you end up getting the rebuilt calipers I would contact PBR and get a rebuild kit from them. The kit is only a few dollars but worth it. I say this because I have heard of a few o-ring failures on rebuild calipers from autozone.

I bought the front brake kit from ford performance awhile back and those calipers don't say anything on them. They look like Cobras without the logo

My buddy works at Ford and can get FRPP stuff fairly cheap. Never even thought about them having brake kits.
