Well, had an interesting night. Ran 12.0's all night at the track so on the way home I had all 3 above try me. I took out all 3 of them, the Z06 was the hardest, he had a cam, full exhaust, 4.10's and intake.


These were all from a 2nd gear roll.

what do you trap? if your running 12.0's, a cammed Z06 should run you pretty hard. Z06 is capable of 12.0s bone stock at 118mph in cold weather. most run 115-116mph and low 12's on street tires

actually ive never seen a z06 go low 12s totally stock on street tires, the best ive ever seen is 12.6 and im a track frequenter, being at a track 5 times a month, and ive seen countless z06 runs, i did see a z06 with an air intake and et streets do 12.1 though and the highest ive seen them trap at my tracks is 113mph.. maybe its cause im running at tracks at plus 1000 ft of elevation, the fastest cobra ive seen stock actually ran 12.56 @ 109.50 with a freak 1.84 60 ft on stock rubber!! hahaha thats definetely not the norm, mine would only do 12.82 @ 109 bone stock

thats what i figured.. you guys are probly abit slower than sea level tracks and places like mine.

if thats the case, i can see you hanging abit better. if stock they run 12.6's at 113, a cammed Z06 should touch high 11's there, depending on the stick. if it were me, i would make it a big stick LOL but anything can happen on the street. :thumbsup:

I'm not trying flame but I figure if he is racing a Z06 from a roll so he has two major advantages (1) he has a power advantage and (2) two the Z06s weight advantage is somewhat negated because traction is not as much of an issue for the Cobra as it would have been from a dig...IMO

Well since you weren't at Thompson last Wednesday; you missed the yellow 04' Z06 go 12.1, and he is bonestock. The red one was also going 12.4-12.7's and I believe that he is also stock. Everyone was breaking out with the cooler air.

i'm not sure whats done to grayghosts car but if he is only running 12.0's, i assume his trap speed is around 115mph or so. Z06's stock are in that range, at similar trap speeds. a cammed car should pull him hard, but i'm not sure of his mods and if he is running 12.0's at 120 or what not LOL

but the weight difference does matter. at 40mph or so, power to weight is a huge factor in which the Z06 has light weight and about 400rwhp assuming a small cam. its gonna be hard to beat that. weight doesnt have much to do with traction...

Good kills. I've raced a few Cobras(03/04) and let me tell, weight does make difference even from a slow roll.

There were two Z06's at capitol friday night which were running 12.2's on street tires. I know they are bad azz rides, thats why i was happy to win, not all drivers can race there cars well. Thats why you see 03/04 cobras running either high 12's or high 13's stock.... and Z06's doing the same.... Maybe the guy I ran couldnt drive?

hey man i know what ur saying.. i ran a C6 vette with my Irocz and he ran a 13.88 at 105mph!!! to my 13.89 at 96.6 mph

That is sad. That is up there with the C5 I saw run 14.7. The best he could get was 14.4 (i believe).
