UPR Products has one but it's only available on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mustang-Clutch-Master-Cylinder-Rod-PERMANENT-Lifetime-Fix-Repair-2005-2014-S197/113916352700?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Here's another listing & seller indicates USA made... FORD Mustang Clutch Master Cylinder Rod PERMANENT fix/repair 2005-2014 V6 GT | eBay
Well I’m gonna find out for $15.... With the UPR one and was thinking about the USA made one just because too
How does the old one come off? Is it simply pushed on the end of the rod? I see the new one uses a setscrew to hold it on. I assume that if I remove or loosen the two bolts holding the MC I can slide it sideways off the clutch pedal rod. I had my whole pedal assembly and master cylinders out this summer to separate the systems and replace some parts and getting the pedal assembly back in and aligned was a PITA. I had it off just slightly from the original position and it caused weird intermittent pedal feel issues from the mis-alignment. The issues remained until I had it almost perfectly aligned in the original factory location - don't want to dealt with that crap again. It's hard to work in that area - taking the seat out probably helps and I didn't.
It's molded together. You're going to have to break it off. I found this pic. I took my seat out, but it's still a PITA. There's no way I could do it otherwise. I won't be doing that fix unless mine breaks.
I grabbed a couple of these for future repair/sale. There will be a point in time when these have been long ago discontinued and someone will be looking for one......One for my repair and one to help a fellow enthusiast...... I am thinking about grabbing the 2013/14 Clutch Master for my 2008, while it is still available, and storing this replacement piece with it, and doing it all at once. Does anyone have the part number for the 2013/14 Clutch Master Cylinder? Thanks, Robert
What is with all the NLA parts for the GT500? I used to sell auto parts in my previous life and we could usually get anything for any car! And old ones at that!
Well just for what will happen down the road i purchased one. Thanks for the heads up. I will keep and eye on mine.
At the 7 year point, manufacturers are no longer required to keep replacement parts in stock. I'm sure that "more limited" production cars have less inventory in the system to start with, so by the 7 year point, the parts are gone. Shelby, being an automobile manufacturer is the same way, that is why there was a big dump of original GT500KR parts around 2015/16, they were no longer required to keep parts..........and I understand, replacement parts take up space, space costs money to maintain.... R
I just grabbed one online, I called the dealership before I ordered to verify that they did in fact have DR3Z-7A543-A in stock and the parts person put their hands on it.....Retail is $190!?!?! He said that it would cost me the $190 if I ordered it through him over the parts counter and they had it on their website for $126 plus $8.80 shipping, total $135+...........and I checked, they only had one in stock..... R
And the government, in it's infinite wisdom, likes to tax inventory every year, so if something sits, it costs money. Every.Single.Year.
I forgot to ask........Isn't there also a unique clutch return spring for the 2013/14 that mounts up in the pedal area? Does anyone have that part number? ..............and are there any other unique/updated 2013/14 GT500 clutch related parts in the pedal area? Thanks, Robert
Your clutch pedal is not likely to have provision for it. My pedal assembly didn't have it. I think Mustang GTs might have had it, but I don't know what years, and the 13-14 GT500.
