Clutch Fork question

Anyone know what the weight is on the end of the fork? Just wondering if its even needed?

I had a thread on this a few weeks ago. I just took mine off, thats what Promotion recommends.

Good read. Yeah, the last clutch I put in, we took the weight out because you could clearly see where it was rubbing. Just ordered a new TOB and Fork to replace my squealing TOB and was wondering about that weight. I think I'll just remove it because it seems like its there to dampen vibrations and such. Thanks for the response.
