While reinstalling my engine and torqueing the crank damper I noticed that the engine is turning with the trans in gear (wheels on ground). Am now wondering if I had my brain turned off and installed the clutch disc backwards. Any other ideas what would allow the clutch to slip? The cable is off altogether so can't be an adjustment issue.

Update: Ran out of ideas so dropped transmission. Everything looks normal. No idea why the clutch would have been slipping. While I’m in there, might as well upgrade the clutch.
I guess we should've asked, was it the old clutch or a new one?
Stupid question, but you have the driveshaft on right?
