OKay so I was clay barring the hood of the L and after wiping off a section I saw a part of the hood about 6 inches in diameter that was noticably more dull than the rest of the hood. I've claybarred before and I've never run into this. The dull spot has little swirl marks much in the same motion that I was using the claybar. After polishing to no avil my question is am I cursed with this dull spot on my hood until I get it painted? I use a mother's claybar and mother's instant detailer as lubricant...

Strange. Are you positive that the swirls weren't there before and were just being hidden by wax, which is removed during the clay process? Did you drop the clay at all?
