Classic scam moves from Internet to Phone

Sitting quietly after shoveling the driveway, and the phone rings. Caller ID says "Unknown Caller". Man with heavy foreign accent says, "I am from the US Government. You have been selected to receive $7,000. We just need your bank account number to transfer the money."

I could have let him go on, but when I told him the call was being recorded, he immediately hung up.

There are plenty of stupid people with just enough cash to keep these people in business.

The hardest part is when these idiots call the police and want us to solve their problems. Sometimes I would like to hand them a hammer and tell them to strike head repeatedly. :bash:
