was trying to trace a noise which turns out to be a bad alternator noise. but while chasing the noise while engine running i took off the oil fill cap and gave the engine a quick rev and heard a chirping/squeaking noise from valve cover opening where oil fill cap would go. dont here the chirping noise with cap on, but did hear it while oil fill cap off. just contributed it valvetrain noise. is this normal?
