I know this has probably been discussed, and forgive me if it has. I was looking at some cheap 15x10" wheels, with a 6.00" backspacing. I know I might have to grind the tie rod some, but other than that, is there any problems of fitting these wheels on the IRS? Low profile IRS bolt needed? Also, I was looking at some 15x8" wheels, but do you think those will provide enough traction at the track with some slicks on them? Thanks!

I run 15x8's and have no problem hooking a 10.5 tire there are guys making 1000whp and running this size of tire with no issues.

As for the wheels you need a 6.5Bs for a 10 inch wheel and a 5.5 bs for a 8 inch. With both there is a fair bit of grinding and you need to run longer studs in the rear. I even use a slide on 1/8th inch spacer just to be sure. Hope that helps.

So how bad is the install of extended studs? Also, is the grinding making anything unsafe, or just look like shit? Thanks buddy!

a 15x10 wheel is the proper size for a 10.5 tire. I know you can fit a 10.5 tire on a 15x8 wheel but it wont work as well.

no a 10.5 tire is a great all around tire. if you go with 10.5 make sure you get a stiff sidewall. they work real well.

Which 10.5" slick would you recommend for my setup?

Edit: For sure though, I must run extended studs, correct? Thanks!

I run these 672-3055S is the Jegs part number. do you want to run a 28" or 26" tire? I run 3" studs myself and its a good idea, but you dont HAVE to.

I was wanting some 26" tires since I have stock gearing and all. Also, would it be unsafe with out the studs, or just not work at all? Thanks!

for 26" you will have to step down to a 10" tire with stiff sidewall...it will work you just wont have as much thread engagement.

So my wheel is not going to fly off going down the track or anything right? No spacers needed either, correct? Thanks for all the helpful advice!

no its not, just some tracks require the studs to pass tech. no spacers, just make sure you get the correct back spacing
