Short of bias plies or drag radials on a prepped surface, my GT500 has poor grip. On the fully stock suspension, it would spin trying to launch from a dig with drag radials. Viking Warriors, LCA's, LCA relo brackets, and UCA w/bracket helped on no prep, but only so much. Its taken me a long time to come to terms that while I love my GT500, I long for a better platform. The GT500 was my dream car! Im not disappointed, but it certainly has strengths and weaknesses. Weaknesses I didnt realize I wanted to experience (handling, braking, auto trans, ease of making power etc). I was on the fence about mentioning adding a C6 to my wife, especially with being close to paying off the GT500 and my wife having sold her car making a very small amount of cash. That and we have a 9 month old girl that I love with every fiber of my being. But Im a car guy, she knows that and I think she secretly wants a fast car with a removable top to enjoy too. OP: Ive had Harleys, a Liter sport bike, an old MB S-class, a Lexus, a brand new off the lot Mustang GT, currently my GT500 and my Excursion and hopefully that C6. I have Zero regrets that I dont have more in savings. The experiences of enjoying vastly different vehicles before my daughter arrived in my life is something Ill always cherish. Having the GT500 to share with her is something I cant wait to experience. Adding a C6 for other avenues of performance is something I cant wait to share either! Ill be a proud papa if she show's interest. If she doesnt, thats ok too. But at least Ill have given her the opportunity to experience what gets her dad's blood pumping. That is priceless.
