Change Oil Message Question

My 2011 is parked while I'm in Korea. My wife is taking it out every few weeks for short trips to keep the battery charged. She drove it over the weekend and the change oil message is coming up. I knew it would but thought it would be end of summer before it flashed. I have eight more months before I get home to change the oil. Will this have any adverse effects? Oil has about 2000 miles on it.

I wouldn't worry about it. It will be fine until you get home.

It's just oil. Have your wife take it in and get an oil change since she takes your car out anyways. It's better to be safe than sorry.

personally it is full synth oil and will be just fine...i change mine at 5k..book says 7k...you are only at 3k.....you will be fine....but if you need piece of mind you can have it changed......but .....:shrugi just hit the reset button till 5k comes around.....mine sits in the winter so 3mo triggers it)
