Centerline Telstars are not lightweight

Just wanted to let anyone know that was looking into these and thought they were lightweight. The 15x4 Telstars probably weights about the same as my 15x8 ProStars. This isn't a big issue for me but if you're looking for a very light wheel, this isn't it.

What is the actual weight? It would be helpful to see the difference in weight between Centerline Telstars, ProStar Prostars, Bogart D-10s. I think it would explain the price difference.

I dont have a scale and the Prostars are already mounted so I would have to have them unmounted just to weight them. The Prostars are a 2 piece hollow aluminum wheel and the Telstars are a 1 piece billet wheel. I guess I just thought the Telstars were aluminum also.

I bought both rims through summit racing. Prices are for 15x8.
Prostars - $169
Telstars - $135

Thanks for the heads up Jon, I was actually thinking about getting a set of these once I do the solid rear. Maybe since your planning on using these on the street the extra weight and durability is a good thing.

15x4 telestar is 14 lbs
15x3.5 Weld is 10-11 lbs
If I remember correctly. My buddy ended up with telestars on his car because "he liked the way they looked" Keep in mind every 10lbs rotating weight is like adding 10 HP or another 10th in the quarter. So between the welds and telestars you will be leaving 1 or 2 10ths on the table.

Jon, not to get off topic a little but do you still run the cobra 13" rotors and PBR calipers?

If so how much spacer do you run? And did you have to do the longer lugs or do you run a hub centric spacer? Let me know as I would like to get a drag setup put together for the front.

Thanks
Jason

I went with the telstars because they are better for the street. And that 10lbs = a 10th is a relative number. If you have a 200 hp car compaired to a 600 hp car, that number would be different.

Yes stock brakes, I had to grind it a bit in the rear. 1" spacers up front, shave off a little of the front studs so they dont go past the spacer.

Looks like you were right Jon, according to that list the 15x8 weld is the same weight as the 15x4 centerline.

Now 7lbs for that front seems mightly light?

For what I've heard Draglites and Prostars should be close to the same weight. I dont know why there is such a big difference between the 15x3.5s. For some reason my Telstar 15x8s feel more than 4lbs heavier than the 15x4s but I dont have a scale to confirm it.
