CEL light on, need help with codes

CEL came on yesterday. Turned it off and it came back on 4 miles later. Error codes read:

P1246: Alternator Load Input Circuit
and
P1518: Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Open

Car seems to be driving ok right now, takes two or three turns to start, and has only cut off on me once about 3 months ago. 63K on it now. My mileage the last few months seems to be a little bit less than normal but I don't know for sure if it is directly related to this. (about 300 per tank vs. 320 or so)

Do you guys have any ideas whats wrong or how to fix this? Am I going to see any problems coming up?

P1518 most likely means your IMRC motor has failed or is on its way out. I would replace that first. I also had the P1246 at the same time when I noticed the P1518. After clearing the computer when I repalces the IMRC both of them never came back again.

or it could just be your alternator.. when that starts to go out many wierd codes pop up.

Ill check the alternator this weekend.

Is there anyway to test the IMRC? What costs am I looking at to replace it? If it is or does go out, am I going to be left stranded somewhere?
