Yes I was. Never able to 100% confirm it but I suspect that I had a momentary hiccup with the pump or some other delivery issue, which caused an instant lean/heat situation.

Thanks for the info. I guess this is the reason most tuners won't tune for meth

Too much 'merica going on in those engines.
Hope none of this happens to my forged shortblock.

I bought this mess. Soccer mom wanted a jeep but apparently didn't learn how to drive a manual, and the trans was "sticking" in 3rd.

New synchro vs old syncro for third and 4th gears.

Found the rest of the synchros.

Dissolved bearing seal. The shield was rattling around in the front retainer housing.

2004 Lightning. Fuel Relay IIRC failed at the track. Ported eaton with an 8 lower and nitrous. Might of had a smaller upper pulley too. IIRC either 7 or all 8 rods cracked.

Every time I think about turning the boost up, I'm going to re-read this thread. LOL

One reason why I'm having my machine shop go over the block and internals. I want a happy 600/600 tire car. If that's not possible with my shortblock then we'll lower the figures. Already lower them to 600/600 from 650/650.

I'm with you. I would rather have a shade less power and know it will last 100,000 miles or more before a refresh; not a failure at 20k.

Crazy. I guess the theory is you stay in the throttle after the chutes deploy to settle the back end (pull the back end straight)? He stayed in it a good 1-2 seconds after he started to loose it haha. Talk about experience.
