When it comes to CAI what is most important: volume of air or the cold air?

the JLT 123 theoretically lets far more air into the engine over the carbon fiber tube. However, according to the intake temp gauge it runs 30 degrees warmer over the ambient temperature. The carbon fiber (no tune) intake mimics the outside temp. Does this even make a difference? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

thanks
