Today my car started to jump in 1st and 2nd gear around 4k rpm's. The tach just started to sort of jump around a little so I went to neutral. What could be the cause? Timing?

Maybe your clutch is slipping.
Were you on it hard?

Was the car itself jumping around or just your rpm's.
My bet is plug wires.

Thats what i was thinking but shouldnt it miss whenever you put a load on it despite RPM?
Most times but not always.
had several high RPM misses come down to wires.
But to the OP, Take off slowly and get to 3rd or 4th gear, Or get to 45 or so in 5th and mash it to load the motor and see if it does it.
Basiclly bog it down and floor it.
could be your plug wires or plugs or coil packs, dont rule out that your imrc control box could be getting ready to take a dump causing it to slightly open and close which would prodice a surge if it starts to open and then suddenly starts to close
the rpms were jumping thus making the car jump. It didn't do it the next day so I'm not sure what's up but i will try what stampede3 said tomorrow. thanks guys
