Our agency has been going through the process of hiring for a few vacant positions...

Had an individual come in for an in-person interview for a vacant police officer position. Shortly before the interview begins, I get curious after observing some questionable job history listed in his resume. I have an officer go to the parking lot and run his plates. The check comes back with a suspended registration, suspended DL, and several active traffic warrants.

We allow the interview to proceed; as the individual walks into the room, he approaches the panel and tries to shake our hands. At that point, handcuffs were applied. It probably was almost a minute before this knucklehead realizes this is not part of the interview process. He also had the nerve to ask if he would still be considered for the job if he paid the fines to clear the warrants.

Lmao!! There was a guy was arrested out of the academy class before mine because he was wanted in a neighboring county for family violence. These idiots pretty much guarantee we will always have a job. Good stuff!

Too funny! Doesn't surprise me though. A kid in the academy class that was after mine got stopped and arrested with Marijuana on the way to class. One guy drove to the academy with a suspended DL in another class while I was there, then tried to argue with an instructor about a traffic violation he witnessed him commit on the way there.

About the worst thing that happened in our class was speeding tickets, we paid dearly for them in the PT field.

Here's one for you: Have you ever had recruits stupid enough to bring Bachelor Party photos (yup, the type where everyone nailed the "strippers") and show them on breaks during the Academy? 2 fired, many with notes in file--before they even graduated the Academy. Best part? I.A. served a warrant on the recruit/bachelor! Marriage annulled shortly thereafter. You can't make this stuff up!

Speaking of nudidty at work and general inappropriate behavior.

We had a kid that was in an academy class I taught on occasion(Only overtime we got for a while was teaching so I did it every chance), he creeped me the hell out. Just made my hair stand up on the back of my neck. Lo and behold, I come in to teach my block of instruction one day and he's not there. I come to find out from the class (Who is laughing hysterically when I ask where _____ is.) that the training LT caught him red handed looking up Pornography or more specifically guy on guy porn on lunch break earlier on an academy computer. He had already been hired by an agency; needless to say he was fired immediately and kicked out. SO much stupid that I witnessed in the time I taught there.
