Since this is a photography section, and many of you love your cameras/ many of you also love your guns I have a simple question.

I'm torn between getting a freshly factory refurbished Canon 30d ( i know the owner/history of the camera)

Or picking up a new remington 700 sps varmint in .223 rem

what would you pick?

I voted canon. If the 700 was a .308 then I'd get that. Why do you want .223?

The county that I live in has a restriction on what calibre I can fire ( very flat nothing but farm fields until the curvature of the earth kicks in) the limit here is .243 or or .270 not sure which one off the top of my head I also need a varmint gun. Don't want the yotes to eat all the young fawns and turkey lol

get the camera...the SPS isn't all that great. You should look into the Remington LTR, or the XCR compact tactical.

The reason I'm looking at the SPS is i'm a lefy and it seems to be the best lefty gun in it's price range

The stock is A Bell & Carlson "Light Tactical". I have not had it bedded yet but the groups shrank around a 1/4" on average by replacing the factory Synthetic stock. The OEM stock had pads at the tip of the stock touching the barrel, the new stock has it free floated back to the recoil Lug.

I adjusted the stock trigger to A reasonable weight.

Here is another 5 shot group that I managed to ruin on the 5th shot.

Even if the camera hadn't sold I would have voted rifle, and held out for a Canon 40D.
