Can you just switch out the Flowmaster CB mufflers for Borlas or SLP's

My best friend has a 99 cobra with a Flowmaster CB. He wants to switch to either Borla Stingers or SLP LM II. Could he just buy a pair of Borla or SLP mufflers, cut out the Flows, and just weld/clamp the new ones into place. I beleive the Flowmaster CB is not Stainless, so it shouldn't be hard to weld. He is just wanting a different sound, and dosent mind the tips saying Flowmaster.

Has anyone tried to do this before, or am I being crazy.

You can do almost anything with a welder I had magnapacks in my flow cb at one point.

+1. I have BBK longtube headers, BBK O/R H-pipe, Flowmaster Mufflers and SLP Exit pipes. The SLP Loudmouths were too loud for me, so in went the Flows.
