I appreciate it. I already replaced the entire engine with an aviator engine so I'm back running but was simply curious of what was the possible failure. I feel like it might be head related since 7 out of the 8 cylinders looked great.23yrs old and 200k, everything is going to be worn.
Could be a combo of guides, stem seals, and rings.
Leak down would be the easiest way to diagnose but I wouldn’t do anything less than a full rebuild.
Might be nice to see what failed the most I suppose to give you an area to inspect on the heads.
