Hey guys, i'm planning on doing a cam swap on my 04 gt with some of comp cams thumpr cams. i'm in the air force and we have an auto shop with just about every tool available, but im wondering how difficult of a job this is...is it worth having it professionally done?

Its gonna be very hard, because Comp doesn't make thumper cams for a 2v. And I will say this again and again, bigger isn't always better when it comes to cams. So pick one that matches your mods and goals.

don't jump onto the comp cams band wagon, sure they have a good sound but do your research man, I'm still researching because I'm doing a cam swap as well. I've narrowed it down to CMS/VT and HiTech Stage II's, I'll be doing the swap myself being that I've done all my research and a buddy of mine has a cherry picker and motor stand; it's going to be a fun project, I definitely think you can do it yourself with all the tools you say you have.
