A couple of questions. I've taken down my tranny and broken it apart... mostly. The last thing I've done is pull the 3/4 synchro assembly and 3rd gear off the main shaft. One of my questions...Does 2nd gear have to be pulled off from the opposite end of the main shaft? It looks like there is a major oversized snap ring in between 3rd and 2nd, but I suspect its part of the main shaft. If this is the case, then that sucks because I keep needing a longer and longer reach to pull from the 'shifter' side!
I'm doing this whole thing in the first place because 4th gear became so hard to shift in and out of, it was unusable. Two keys were broke off the 3/4 assembly but the springs were still in on both the 3rd and 4th side. The 4th gear blocker was ever so slightly worn. I could definately tell it was worn a bit more than the 3rd gear blocker, but not much. This leads me to my 2nd question... Is that all it takes to have such a hard time shifting into 4th (3rd was fine) or am I possibly missing something more? It didn't seem like anything else had any worn areas at all.
I'm a mechanic newbie and this is the first time I've taken a tranny apart. Now I actually realize just how it works!

Yes and you need special long pullers to remove them. You also will need a press/pressbed to get it back together.
