Cal-Tracs/Traction bars

I have read a little on Cal-Trac tractions bars are they the best, what about Lakewood or others.

1-Are they for track use only, do they effect street driving?

2-How hard are they to install?

3-How much do they help?

4-Worth it?

5-Were is the cheapest place to get them?

I bought Caltracs back in late '99 but found out they don't fit with the Bassani exhaust!! Still have them sitting in my warehouse!

me too! calvert racing told me they were developed for the L's when i bought them 1 1/2 yrs. ago, but they lied. turns out they were never developed for or tested on the L's. i know jdm tried all kinds of combinations w/them before he shelved his too! if anybody knows of a group of vehicles these CAN be used on please let us know. thanks........jack

Like I said...

They fit F150's fine - including Lightnings - just not with the Bassani exhaust!!!

1. They clang a little bit when you go over bumps.
2. They aren't too hard to install. The front bushings on the leaves need to be pressed out and new aluminum ones pressed in. The front sides of the leaves need to be ground with a grinder for clearance.
3. They have helped I think. I never really took measurements. I just didn't want to break my driveshaft.
4. I would probably do it again.
5. I bought mine from PSP. Calvert racing sells them also.

JDM's lift bars man are they awsome. I will be getting them soon, my caltracs will be up for sale soon.
