After breaking my IRS today and getting stopped from doing the 1/4, I am going to do an 8 or 10 (leaning 8.50 cert/10) point cage and a solid rear. What else is everyone doing for reinforcement of tq boxes and anything else I should be doing?

Hoosier drag 28x10x17, 100 percent stock suspension, previous run was a 1.48 60' at 4200 on the 2 step, I was told that I could leave or stick to 1/8, so I upped the 2 step to 4800 and it dead hooked and immediately broke something inside the diff. The half shafts are fine!

I'm still trying to hold out with the IRS as i'm not a serious drag racer but i will be going straight to a 15" bias ply for next years track days.

If doing a full cage then have it tied in with thru floor subframes. Safest and best way to do it. The thru floors should also be tied into your torque boxes to help strengthen it.
