Don't underestimate a C5Z06 on the strip in the hands of a good driver.
My buddies bolton c5Z ran 10.89 and 126mph and
My car went 10.9 five years ago with 396rwhp 364rwtq.
These cars launch well are light right out of the box.

A heads, cam and 100 shot C6Z should easily go mid 9's @ 137+ ..
Obviously needs a good driver and good traction...
But were talking 675+ rwhp and over 700 rwtq in a 3130 lbs car...
BTW 1/8 mile is gay.. Get on the HWY and run em'...
No traction and no bad driver excuses ..

I wouldn't say easily but your point is well taken.
Maybe with auto conversions it would be more common.
To run a stick car into the nines, you need to know what you're doing.

Best 60-ft so far was 1.54 on 26x11.50-16 M/T ET Streets but I need to put a new clutch in it now. Car is heavier now with 10-pt cage and through the floor subs so it runs 10.9s and lost a few mph on the trap speed. My shifting also leaves a bit to be desired as I don't drive the car much and only take it to the track once in a while. I plan to put a Whipple and a small shot on it after I get a twin disk clutch and 26-spline input.

just to throw my 2 cents in i went at it with a c5z last year on the way home from a cruise night. cocky bastard with his wife/gf in the car. boy was he bitter after lookin at my tail lights. he caught up at the next light to let me know i was number 1
