Buying a terminator that grinds into 2nd advice

Thinking about buying a terminator that grinds going in to second gear... Advice... Anyone else have that problem? How hard to fix or how much to fix at a garage? That's the only thing making me second guess it I need advice

Does it always grind even in normal driving? If so, that could be worn out synchros which leads to tell me the PO had a lead foot and quick hands.

He said that it started doing it in April and its his dd and hasn't had time to drop tranny to fix it. Thinks its synchros... he skips 2nd gear now
