What SignalZero said and what's your definition of bullet proof? B/c in my perspective, "bullet proof" and 8.8" rear are never in the same sentence. Sure, you can make them pretty stout but they'll never be bullet proof compared to a well built 9".
You would need to brace it up to the hilt, weld the axle tubes, aftermarket rear cover, spool, 35 spline axles, 9" housing ends and PROPER ASSEMBLY. But if you're going to spend that much on an 8.8, you're better off just buying a 9", IMO. All of this depends on how much power you're looking to make, your weight and your combination.
