So i want to build a stronger rear end. But i would like to do some modifications including 9" axle ends that would require me to modify my current axle. I was thinking that since im going to be replacing everything internally only the housing was being reused maybe i should just get a second housing. Get the work done and build it then swap it into the car. My question is, how much do axle housings normally run at an auto salvage yards? Also, are there any differences between the 10-14 year cars? I believe i read the 13-14 shelby's had a larger pinion bearing? Are v6 housings the same as 5.0 and shelby housings?

Any help would be appreciated.

They do have different pinion bearings on the 13-14
The 12 also has a different pinion bearing.
