I took my car out of winter storage a few weeks ago and noticed there is no coolant in either tank however the heat exchanger is full. No evidence of a leak. Started to pull things apart yesterday and found that the intercooler core has a crack. One thing that did concern me is inside the coolant tanks there were little chunks of buildup that almost looks like the stone the mosquito is stuck in in Jurassic Park haha.

Assume this is just dried up coolant? Could it be something else? Anything of a concern?

It could just be minerals in the water. I use distilled water to dilute my mix because of all the minerals in tap water. I don't have a solution for cleaning it out and if it's dried out and hardened and stuck to the tank, it might be a challenge to clean up. If it's the plastic tank, you might just get a new one or find someone that's upgraded. I don't recall the chunks of stuff you elude to, but you don't want anything that might chew up the plastic water pump impeller.
