Broken Sway Bar Bracket Bolt/Stud

I had to take my sway bar brackets out, the ones holding the bar to the frame (long story). Thanks to DD'in my car back in the day in NY winter salt one stud/bolt on each side snapped off. Before I start digging into this (again in the winter) anyone know how to properly replace these? Haven't seen much about it, kinda a random issue. I don't see much access into that rail but I haven't really had time to really start investigating. Also seems different than your standard "nut-clip" combination like the k-member attachments, I could be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Just in case you are mistakenly blending terms, do you have a picture of what is actually broken? The bracket? The bolt?

I'll try to take pics next time I'm under but it's raining today. I'm referring to the two stud/bolts that protrude from the frame rail that the bracket attaches to the car with.

I deleted my front sway bar and you can hardly even tell it’s not there.

Depends on the setup. I'm on stiff coil overs with a stiff rear bar and def notice some more oversteer and wander. I'd like to get it back. Maybe I'll loose up my rear bar for now.

It's super cold out and I'm on R888 but I got some over steer not on the gas.

Looking at my car as a reference it appears the only way to access the area is to use a spot weld cutter to take the top of the frame rail out. Or you could cut a hole in the side of the rail and weld it back up. It wont be an easy repair.

am I missing something? I'm pretty sure those studs are replaceable, I know I caught one and bent the clip that holds it in place when removing my motor and popped the stud loose. I just knocked it back into place.

They are replaceable. If I recall correctly it's basically a stud that's tack welded onto a stamped clip that holds it in place. They're not terribly difficult to replace if you can get your hands on new ones. I couldn't find any so I made them myself out of sheetmetal and bolts, just replicating the original design.

This is what I remember as well. They just slip right into place.

Worth a shot, most salvage yards around here won't bother with something that small, not worth taking their time removing the bar and stuff.
I guess for liability reasons they don't let you remove stuff yourself like the good ol days.

That sucks, you need a pickapart yard. Can butcher up anything you want and no inflated prices because it's a Mustang part.

Since I hate when people don't follow up, below is the correct part.

Stud: 806729-S436 4

$2 a piece at Tasca, time to replace them all
