Ok, so two weeks ago I broke the ring gear and the Oem parts are on back order and the dealership has no idea how long I will have to wait. The dealer will warranty it but I don't want to wait anymore. My car is a street car and I don't want to go with 410 gears I'm thinking 373. It will cost me $300 to go with aftermarket and I will get my car back sooner. So what do I do?
I'm open to all opinions... Thanks

Ford is saying they can't get you 3.31's? I went to 3.73s and I like them a lot but there are some cons imo
pro-
great off the line
easier driving in stop and go
better on the clutch
cons-
can't replace a 3.31 third gear pull to 130 mph
I spend a lot more time in 4th and 5th gear now.

For me the pro's do out weigh the cons but just barely so if I had to do it over I would still probably do 3.73s. If Ford can't get you the 3.73 I'm sure a vendor will have a set of FRPP gears.

Personally for me not really worth the time and money expense to go from 3:31 to 3:73 for this car. 3:55 IMO definitely is not worth the hassle.

If you're more drag race oriented 4:10's is the ticket otherwise 3:90 is the best compromise (where I'm leaning towards).

If you run that 17" ET STREET R regularly, don't overthink it, go 4.10 and I guarantee you'll be happy!

373 gears with 29x10.5x15 slicks, 685/625 power numbers, 10.26 @ 135 mph.....im happy with my 373's and love how long my first gear still is at the drag strip.

I run tall 315/35/20 street DRs and currently will be trying out 29.8" 325/45/18 Hoosier Pro style DRs, and I just prefer how the car drives with 4.10s, so it's personal preference. Off boost its still a 4000# car and I immediately wanted to go back to 4.10s when I tried 3.73s.
I've always said on here if you aren't willing to run a DR full time, stick with 3.73s.
4.10s and 29" put you at 2000rpm at 80mph, def not too much IMO.

What RPM do you trap in the quarter with the 4.10s?

I was just about 6500rpm at 136-137mph.
On dyno, my car HP peaked at 6700rpm so it felt good pulling through traps.
For me and street/strip use, I find its the best compromise.

Thanks. I’ve seen the gear/rpm/speed charts here before but having a real example is worth more. I believe I have the same tire setup as you and I can’t wait to try the Hoosiers. I’m just behind on the curve when it comes to mods. I was hoping this year for the rear end build but will probably do it next year and with the 4.10’s.
