Brake Maintenance

I am servicing the rear brakes. I noticed on each of the two caliper mounting brackets, the fit of one of the two guide pins on each bracket has a little more pin to wall tolerance than the other. It seems the difference is in the bracket and not the pins. Noticed this after applying the brake lubricant and one pin would stay bottomed in the bore when pushed but the other would slide back out a little due to the tighter tolerance causing a little compression in the bore. Car has only 18,000 miles so I wouldn’t think there would not be a wear problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine have done the same thing. Could also be the amount of lube you put on each pin. But I haven't had any issues so far. And mine has 113k on it.

Ya, I was thinking the same on the lubricant. It is a little tacky also. Thanks for the info.
