brake light problems

hey guys i got a 89 notch that i'm having problems with the brake switch. i found that the switch works but its not working when its on the pedal. so i replaced it thinking that it would help but it didn't the new is still doing the same thing. not sure what do.

Any ideas?

Is the plastic bushing in place? with out this could couse your problem. there is one bushing on inside and one on out side, washer then a clip holding all in place, then if U bought an Auto zone part could just be bad out of box.

You have to adjust them, so when the pedal goes down it turns the switch on???? Hopefully that helps
