Hey guys, quick question........our 2000 R's call for dot3 fluid. Anybody use dot4 or 5.1 with any issues? I do track the car, so I'd like to use a fluid with higher wet/dry temperature thresholds vs. dot3 fluid. Let me know what you think, thanks!

Dot 4 and 5.1 and both interchangeable with dot3, they just have higher temp threshold like you said, switch to either one and youll be fine, jsut dont use regular dot5 if you like your abs lol.

Don't use DOT 5.1. Use DOT 4, and Castrol SRF is the best, especially for long term use. Doesn't break down as quickly as other race fluids and has the best "wet" boiling point. Change once a year for street use, change every third track day, with bleed/top off after each event.
