Bowfishing?

anyone here bowfish? i've been looking at starting but im not real sure about it, wondering if anyone here can give me any tips? thanks guys

A lot of guys around here bow fish for carp. Some are way into it and have bows set up with reels designed specifically for bow fishing. I have a sneeking feeling that this sport involves more beer than normal fishing.

It's pretty big over here, but I've never done it. I'm supposed to go on a trip with my dad in June.

I had a rod extension that hooked to the balance screw in on my old Hyot compound boy. We "fished" for carp, gar, and any other non game fish.

I've done it a few times with my buddies on the Potomac River. It's pretty fun and it will take you a while to get the hang of it because the water distorts the fish. You can go out and buy a reel that hooks onto your reel.

I will say one thing, it isn't as fun as river hunting!

it is big in this area, a few friends of mine go and do it, im not into hunting or fishing though so its not for me
