The old owner said it made 605 rwhp. It has a JLP built motor with stage 2 JLP heads and cams and a 2.3 KB. What boost level would i need to run to be in the 600 hp range. I'm only seeing 15 lbs boost with the race tune and a 2.75 upper. It also has a larger than stock lower pulley. Do i need to change the belt? I'm using the same belt that was used for the 3.25" pulley. It seems tight with the large idoler pulleys. What do you think? Thanks Tim

I will have to look at the receipts to make sure. He gave me all of the parts tickets about $20,000 worth. I think it is a 10" pulley.

I found the truck on Craigs list. The owner only lived 3 miles from my house.:D The guy I bought it from only had it since last October or so. He must have bought it from Bruce Carson. Because all of the tickets say his name.

I just looked at the dyno sheet. The numbers are STD. It actually made 601.06 rwhp and 661.45 torque. I'm not a dyno racer. I'll let the track tell me what it really makes:burnout: The tickets say it has a JLP built motor not JDM.

no way it's a #10 with 15 psi, unless there's a major boost leak... as said before, 600 whp is a bit high for a 2.3 KB on 15 psi. I made 575 with my 2.6H KB on 15 psi.

I run an 8lb lower (9.5?) and 3.0 upper on my KB and I'm right at 20-21 with the sheetmetal intake. I would assume I'm lingering around 600rwhp. Last dyno on that setup was 560 something, hot day, no sheetmetal intake. On my 3.5 upper its right around 16lbs of boost.

That truck used to run around florence ala. I think it was running bout 7.5-7.6 on drag radials. If I remember right that 600hp was with a 100shot .

Mine makes 14lbs on a 10" lower and 3.5" upper on a 2.3KB w/ JLP plenum and it makes 594/613 on pump gas and 14* timing. When I put a 3" upper on it, C16 fuel, 18* timing and it makes 649/701 and 18lbs of boost. I have heads done by JLP as well.

Tim03Cobra, do you have an auxillary pulley setup? I run a set of 90mm Metcos on the street setup and change to a 100mm when I put the smaller upper on and use the same belt.

It does have a aftermarket pulley setup. I will measure all of the pulleys tonight so, I will know what i have. I think it's the belt slipping. Thanks Tim

Ok, I measured the pulleys. The upper is a 3" with a 90mm idoler and the lower is a 9.5". How much boost should that combo make?
