Bosch bpv replacement

I'm was looking to replace the plastic Bosch bypass valve that came with my Vortech with something a little better and I bought Racing Bypass Valve Type 25 (RBV-25) really cheap. I got it and it feels like it has a fairly stiff spring in it. I am only running 6lbs of boost and was wondering if this is going to be to much and will not operate correctly if I install it.

I ran the stock Bosch to 12lbs and it didn't leak. At 6 lbs you have nothing to worry about anyhow. But as long as you build enough vacuum to open the valve up against the spring when not in boost then it will be fine.

How do I tell if I have enough? My boost gauge is showing right around 20 vacuum at idle. Think that's enough?

Just test it to make sure it opens. But I'm sure that will be fine.

The Bosch bypass valve including in the Vortech kits is rated up to 12 pounds, so you don't even need to change it unless you plan on boosting beyond that.

well i might hold off on doing it then if it will hold up fine
