Hope this is the right forum....

Hello all,
Is there a way to find the bore and stoke when the motor is fully assembled?

My uncle is in the process of having his Jeep SRT8 basically returned to stock. It was bored stroked to a 426, cam, ported heads and centri blower.

Keeping the ported heads and obviously leaving the bore and stroke alone.

He has a sneaking suspicion the auto shop is pulling a Hennesey on him.
We know the stock bore and the punched out bore and stroke.

Just trying to figure out if he has the same block or if the mechanic stuffed a stock motor in there.

Thanks
Jeff

You can pump it. This is a quick and dirty method used by circle trackers to check displacement. I don't remember exactly how it works, but basically you pull a valvecover, loosen the rockers, bring the piston to tdc, then pump the cylinder full of fluid and see how much it holds. Then you pump it back out and reassemble it.
