boost question here

when I turn the key On (car not running) my boost gauge show me 0 but
when the car is running and when im not on boost my stock boost gauge drop to -5 or -6 but I can reach 8 or 10 psi when im pulling it im so curius about it

Is it a boost/Vacuum gage? If so you car is in vacuum until you hit positive prssure

You do understand that boost is in psi and vacuum in inHg.
