Thinking about adding a supercharger on my 01 mustang gt vert automatic. Jist want a fun street car. Will i have problems because its a automatic? Whats needed besides tune and maf and imjectors?
I have a Vortech on my 04 auto. If your trans and converter are healthy you shouldn't have any real problems. I'd recommend when you get the supercharger tune done you have the tuner program higher trans pressure into the PCM. A shift kit or doing the jmod will help your trans last longer and your car shift better. Moving to an aftermarket higher stall converter will also help.(2400 is good for a fun street car, 3000 or higher for a track car but will require an aux cooler) In theory the stock 4r70W can handle more power than just adding a supercharger can dish out.
For about $1500 in parts and hardening the 4R70W can be built to handle 900-1000 hp if you ever need to rebuild it though.
