So I just finished a year and a half build on my 96 GT and figured Id share the fun. First, a little bit of back story on the car.

About two and a half years ago I bought it off a guy with a dying engine, supercharger, irs swap, and 94k miles all for a whopping 5 grand. Didn't know the engine was dying till a month later when it died. Ha. So I paid a shop to swap in a spare engine I had, which was way more expensive that I had thought it would be. Unfortunately the spare was a stock bottom end 04 engine. It didn't last to long at over 450whp and since I didn't want to drop the coin at a shop again my garage project began.

Here are some shots off my car 1.5 years ago.

The dyno, the chart stops at 5800rpm and I always took it to 6700. Not sure what it really made.

This is a cool shot I thought

All done

I also swapped in a T-56 and tubular A-arms to which I forgot to take pics of. The supercharger I upgraded to an Si trim (was a V2 S trim). The short block is the MMR 750. The heads are stock PI with mild Comp cams and the manifold is a ported bullitt manifold. I have ID750`s and an Aeromotive 340 waiting to go in once the engine is broken in and ready for a tune. Hoping for 550whp on 91. Might do an E85 tune too but not sure, Ill be shooting for over 600whp with that. :)

Also Im very lucky to have had 2 good friends that knew more than I helping me with all this. Without them Id have be screwed lol.

Good choice on injectors.

Also what coil over kit is that? and does it fit the koni shocks/struts nicely?

Forget race gas. $15/gal is downright ridiculous. BECOME A METH ADDICT! Meth not only reduces IAT's but also boosts the octane up to 116. I have mine set up to spray at a certain boost psi and I use a lot.....so far it costs me about $20 a month as opposed to $15 a single gallon of 116 race gas.

I also been thinking about going e85 cause there a gas station by my house that sell it.

Gorgeous motor! MMR FTW, they're in my motor as well.

Thanks man!

Same goals as me and that's the same short block Im using. Which trickflow heads? I wish I had ported my heads while they were off.

Thanks, I was gonna get some 80lb`ers but my friend that works for ID convinced me otherwise. The kit is from maximum motorsports, yes it does. Im happy with the handling and it rides very smooth/nice for coilovers.

If/when I do go E85 Im gonna have two tunes. I live nowhere near a station so it would just be for track days/ race nights.

Awesome build OP. I know what its like to have the car sit for a long time.

Your car will make some good power with TFS heads out of the box. Your pretty spot-on with the power. I run 8.5 comp Aluminator, stock PI manifold, 44ccTFS heads (9.5:1 comp), the bigger TFS cam, Si w/ 3.12 and 10% O/D crank. With 91 octane I am just over 600. I dont have enough fuel to run E-85. I need -8 feed, id1000's and a BAP to feed this thing if I were to run corn. Love that Willow Pass still carries E-85. Hopefully by summer I'll have the fuel system sorted.

Meth will depend on the tuner too. If he uses AED, they wont tune his car if it has meth.

I think what he means with race gas is 100 octane mix. That stretches those 5 gallon cans out some. We can get VP cans locally and 109 doesnt cost as much as 116. With 100 octane mix we can run 16-18psi with 22ish timing with no problem. TFS head cars.

Be prepared to have your MPG's tank and test just about every batch of the e85 before refueling.....

Yes, the MPGs will drop but its not like we have to driver over 30 miles to fill up. Also, 5 or 10 gallon cans can be kept in the garage for extra range. I plan on running E-85. I live 5 miles from a pump and will still buy a 10 gallon can. My car only gets 15-17 mixed driving with 91 octane. I'd expect around 12mpg with E-85.

The other problem with E-85 is purity. You could test every batch or you can just install a digital analyzer that runs real time what the purity is for an extrat 200-300 I forget how much the parts cost but its around that number. To get real trick. Delete the factory ECU and run FAST and that will adjust real time, like flexfuel cars, the purity of E-85 as you drive  But that FAST system will run you 3-3500 :nonono:

Sounds good bro. How many mile you breaking it in before a tune?

Thanks man.
1500, Im at 1000 now.

You absolutely positive you don't have a vacuum leak? Have you checked your IAC?

Fairly certain there is no vacuum leak. I thought of replacing the IAC but didn't want to start throwing parts at it, how would you go about checking it?

Idle in the vid sounds good. Are you still running your old tune or a different "base tune"

Thanks man, Old tune still.

Past few days were eventful.
I put some new wheels on.

20140103_075739_zpscuhs7kgn.jpg

Also put in the fuel pump and smaller pulley

Now I just have to install the injectors and tune it. Plan is for Wensday.
