I did a little looking and really did not find anything clear.

Anyone get the sense that the 4.6 SVT Cobra block is stronger than the 5.4 SVT Shelby block?

I had an '03 and now looking at an '08. The '08(stock) does not have anywhere near the juice of my old '03 (Cat back/CAI/2.8 +tune). Hardly a comparison...

Seems odd, perhaps the stock air intake and exhaust really choke the 5.4 up

TIA

Your comparing 14psi vs 9psi first issue....2nd the rods are the weak link in the shelby just as the stock zollner pistons are the achilles heel in the 03/04's....put 14psi thru the shelby a cai and o/r x pipe then report back....shelby will make 70-80+hp/tq over the 4.6 mods being equal

Need to get rid of the stock intake and put at least a 2.6 upper. Once you pulley, add a cai, and tune they wake up a little.
