black dust around blower and cover

I took off the cover from the blower and noticed black dust on the back of the cover and around the area of the blower belt. could this be the belt beaking in? It dosen't look like the belt is rubbing anywhere. I did put the goodyear belt and a 2.80 pulley. please give me advice.

no offense, but are you sure you have the proper belt?

should be Goodyear Gatorback 4080740 for a 2.80

I have the 745, could that be the problem? I was told it works for the 2.93 or the 2.80

I think it's a little too long, which means that your tensioner is out of range....

possibly....belt could be slipping and causing rubber dust

seems logical
