Anyone ever thought about this? Seems like with the right wheel it might not be bad? I see all these people running 17s and 15s, but to me it just doesnt look good on these newer cars. I wouldnt mind running 20s all around but 600+ hp and a 20 is going to be silly. So im thinking 305/40 or 305/45r18 in the rear but dont know what to do in front? The cheap way out is gt500 wheels from AM lol. But if I sacked up and got some nice wheels, like CF5s, I wonder how it would look?

Ive seen a s197 online with an 18 front, 17 rear and it wasnt too bad. Maybe 19 and 18? I just dont love the way a 18 looks in front, im not lowered and dont plan on it so I cant run a 26in tire.

People run 17s and 15 cause they run a much taller tire in the back and with the 17/15 the tire height ends up being very close or the same front and back. 20 and 18s would look ridiuclous if your doing it for looks.

Well since you're going to be most likely running a taller tire... i don't see what's wrong with that. Hell I'd go all the way down to a 15" on the back with some big ol' drag radials :)

Ive seen this video, real life experience tells me otherwise...

Yea the thing is, its not a 90s car. 18s look small on these newer cars, running a 27.5" tire with a 18" wheel looks dumb imo. who needs 4.5" of sidewall

im sure thats what people said when someone wanted to try 17s and 15s. Would be interesting to see... 19/18 or 20/18, I mean its basically the same thing as 17/15 but enlarged for a more modern look.

I dont think it would look as bad as most think.

One reason that members go with 15 inch radial tires on the rear is tires are cheaper and more tire selection.I went with 15 inch on the rear and went with 17 inch on the front to clear the factory brake rotors.

I did just see that 345/40r17 Toyos are dirt cheap. A little big, but could possibly be good? Would need a pretty wide rear wheel though.

Also, correct me if im wrong but this is 18/16 ??

main.php

^^ maybe thats the sweet spot, or 19/17.... thing is if you keep a stock height car you need taller wheels/tires to keep it from looking dumb. So im basically looking at 28in tires. Need a wheel that fills that without looking like a truck tire.

The sizes I originally thought of:

245/40ZR20 27.76 x 9.65 Front INVO

305/45R18 28.78 x 12.05 Rear 555R

That looks perfect.
I really don't see anything wrong with going with a smaller rim on the back when it's functional

well there definitely is a limit I would say, and 20/18 could be over it lol. Id like to see it done, but I guess we are the only ones who think it wouldnt look retarded. I think even that set up above would be way too small for me at stock height. I still may try it if I decide I want to spend some money on nice rims. If I do, I will def post some pics!

Not sure what sizes these are (they might be the same sizes front and back)
but this car looks perfect.. and it looks like he could go with a taller tire on that same rear rim if he wanted to: (of course the car has some suspension done to it as well... this is turbosixxx's car)
