Best way to install door cups?

I recently bought some carbon fiber door pulls and cups and installed the passenger side pull. The drivers side has a vert window control for some reason (it's a coupe) so I didn't install the drivers side pulls. The door cups are a source of mystery. How do I install them? Thanks

They just clip in with tabs.

Mine have the clip in tabs too but they don't fully fit around the door handle. They have a hole at one end and the other side is closed. And from what I can tell the door handle won't come off.
