As the title says, just picked up a TH400 and it needs rebuilding. Its gonna go in my 04 Cobra. Shooting for pretty high numbers. Need this thing strong. All input appreciated. Thanks.

Try asking about GM transmissions on a GM forum. 
Why would you choose the biggest, heaviest transmission that requires the most horsepower to turn? Only thing worse is a Ford C6. Hot setup on the dragstrip [which is presumably where you want to run the car] is a powerglide.

Because it is bulletproof.
Furthermore, not all people make enough power to run a glide. If you make 700-800 or so a turbo 400 will give better ET's than a glide.
Heck if everyone wanted the lightest trans available we would all be running around with C4's.
Now quit hijacking the guys thread just to mess with him because he likes to drag race.......not everyone's car should be setup for road courses.

you need a spragless trans if your serious about being the best or strongest. NO downshifting though. www.extremetransmission.com. I used one on 4400lb chevy with good results.
Contact Rossler transmissions. That's what I have in my LX.
