I want to get started playing poker online but most of the sites seem to make it very hard to deposit and withdraw cash. I joined pokerstars.net yesterday and tried to use my credit card but was declined with all of them, the lady over the phone said that since they are a gaming site, 90% of the credit cards can't be used and instead I should be using echeck to send them money. I don't want to be giving out my bank account information so I opted out. I also asked them if I use echeck to deposit money, what about withdraws? They said the only current method is sending a physical check which you can only request once a week and takes about two to three weeks to arrive....

I used to have an account with fulltiltpoker.com and it was the same thing, withdraws are with checks only and required you to fax in a copy of your drivers license first before you can. They made it easier to withdraw cash because they used fake companies they own to charge your credit card. I would look at my statements and see charges from telecommunication companies or internet companies.

So i guess the US ban on casino sites made it really tough for these poker sites...but is there any ones out there that are legit and better than these two?

There is a gift card you can buy at certain stores that will deposit money instantly(a way to use your cc).. It's a certain brand card and only that gift card will work...I forgot what its called but if you want me to I can go to the store and get the exact name.. You will have to look it up online to see what stores around you sell that certain card too.

But withdrawing money idk, I've only cashed out with checks and they take forever..

This is all for pokerstars btw.. I don't know if the card will work for other sites..

Fulltilt is the only one I ever used. I never had problems putting cash on the account, and I don't use it often enough to try to withdraw.

i use a bunch of them but mostly ultimate bet. It used to be easier to deposit money with credit card but ever since the U.S passed that credit card/gambling law its not easy. I used to do it all the time but not allowed too now. When i travel outside the US i pick up a visa gift card and it works. As far as getting money its never been a problem direct to my bank no issues unless a try to remove more then $1100

I don't think you can use your credit card to fund gambling... someone want to check the EULA/contract?

Depends on where you go. Some sportsbetting sites take it, and they have "casinos" so they are definitely out there.

It's a grey line. When I did e-commerce, only a few banks would even issue a credit card that supported online purchases without going through a 3rd party guarantor.

Might be more open now... or it might be online gambling disguised as standard online transactions. Just need to call the CC company I guess to find out.
