Just bought my car recently and I just took a road trip to vegas(224 miles) and I got surprisingly good gas mileage. Just wanted to see what the rest of you got.

I went 224 miles on 6.9 gallons which comes out to 32.5 mpg!? Sounds like a crazy good number to me.

Does your car have gears installed? Sounds to me like you do, and you havent had the car tuned for the new gears(if you have a 2001 cobbra).

I've gotten a best of 23.3 miles to the gallon, and that was with my supercharger. This was on the interstate going about 75mph avg.

26mpg. That was with the BB/stroker, blower, and 80lb injectors.

25-27 mpg when I had the 3.27 bringing her back from AL to NH....passing trucks only on the up-hills and drafting behind them on the downs. Just for fun,,,It kept me from being bored. I haven't check mpg since.

24.5 mpg averaging 80 mph w/the top down going to Beech Bend Raceway for NMRA finals a few years ago. And some of that was bumper to bumper to get in.

My father just brought my car down from NY to NOVA for me and claimed he did about 25.6mpg. That's with 3.73s and him driving about 70-75 and then sitting in traffic on 95 south of DC.

Best I've ever done is 23.9 :burnout:

Non ethanol gas is usually good for about 2 mpg, My 2010 F150 would routinely pick up 2-3 mpg whenever I filled up in Alabama (a non ethanol state) going to Barber.
Ethanol just sucks all the way around, it's knock numbers are based on anti knock potential not octane. Florida just passed a bill stating it's OK NOT to add it.

Just keep the revs around 2800-3000 on the highway and you'll get the best.

With 3.27's I'd run 105 on the highway and touch 30mpg. Then with 4.56's I had to slow down :-(

Not sure I buy this as wind resistance is exponential and the motor has to work much harder at 105 than 75 to maintain speed...

Seems like most folks with gears actually don't see any drop in milage?

I used to have a 98 GT and I swapped in a set of 3.73's. When I did that my mpg went up. I remember it being something about being a small motor and the extra gear making it easier on the engine to keep the car going.

My gears are stock. I do have an 03 6speed tranny installed though. Maybe that's a reason my mileage is so good. I cruise at 75 in 6th at about 1400-1600 rpms

I usually get 24 on the highway @80 with 4.10s. It doesn't really change much depending on how I drive.

It's all about efficiency range. These aren't big cube single cam motors. They move tons of air and are tiny.
